John and Malcolm are back with another Coffee Time Conversation. This time out two seasoned pastoral support workers are discussing how to counter and avoid cynicism when coming out of lockdown

The final lecture from Jonathan Leeman in our special lecture series touches on topics such as the mission of the church, and straight line and jagged line ethical issues. 

As we enter a new phase of the pandemic with most restrictions removed, pastors are faced with new challenges on how and when to make church more normal again with some arguing for a swift return and others advocating for caution.

What’s the relationship between religion and politics, and is that the same thing as the relationship between church and state? What’s the church’s mission and how do Christians live individually and corporately as citizens of heaven here and now? What is justice and are a Christian’s responsibilities for doing justice different than a church’s? These are the kinds of questions to be tackled in this course, which brings together the two fields of ecclesiology and political theology.
